Powered by AI, semantic search, and relevance ranking, SearchSG interprets the meaning behind a query and matches it to the most useful results—moving beyond exact keyword matching to deliver more intelligent and context-aware search experiences.

It works by continuously collecting and indexing content from government websites and approved data sources. Once indexed, this content is analysed and ranked in real time to surface the most relevant information for each user query.

Search quality is further enhanced using multiple relevance signals, including content freshness, synonyms, government-specific terminology, past search patterns, and ranking intelligence. These signals help ensure users can find accurate information even when they are unsure of the exact terms to use.

SearchSG addresses common challenges faced by members of the public, such as difficulty finding precise information on content-heavy websites, unfamiliar government terminology, and inaccurate or irrelevant search results.
